Tesla reports earnings Wednesday, 10-24-2018, after the market closes. The company pushed the date up a week and the market has taken that as anticipation of good results.
Adding fuel to the burning bull-bear fire, Andrew Left of Citron Research, the famed Tesla bear and plaintiff in the lawsuit against Elon Musk for manipulating the stock price to harm shorts, has now turned bullish.
But there's more to this report and this company. One phenomenon that has been little reported is that Wall Street's consensus analyst estimate for next quarter is in fact a positive earnings per share (EPS) number. The estimate is for $0.79 per share, in fact.
Oh, but there’s more discord. For the current quarter, which we will see below, the range of estimates from the nearly 20 analysts that cover it, go from a quarterly loss of $1.75 a share to a quarterly profit of $0.88. So, while the mean estimate comes in at -$0.07, this company remains an enigma to Wall Street â€

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) has been decimated by the reality that the PC market is shrinking, and while is has made a wonderful move to the Cloud to recapture that lost revenue, now fears surround its ability to deliver the goods with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) on its heels. The fear hit a fever pitch just a few month ago when reports came out that Intel was finding its 10nm process node shrink neither easy nor cheap. But now the narrative is gently changing -- we said gently. Perhaps Intel isn't going to be as far behind as expected in the 7nm market, and perhaps buyers will have more patience.
This earnings release will focus on the numbers, as they always do, but the guidance will be the focus. Intel must answer questions about its lag in the 7nm market and when it will be back, if ever, as the technology leader in the space.
Some questions will persist around its GPU product, but for now, that market is so utterly dominated by Nvidia, it's likely a non starter,

Twilio Inc (NYSE:TWLO) has earnings due out 2018-11-06, after the market closes. As always, the results relative to analyst estimates as well as guidance will drive the stock. We do note how tight the range is for revenue and EPS estimates, meaning either Wall Street has this name figured out, or this is room for a surprise. We'll see below that the difference between the average current estimate for revenue and the highest estimate is just $1.7 million different on a $150+ million piece of data. The same goes for EPS estimates -- very tight which means a very accurate Wall Street or room for a surprise.
Ultimately those who know the stock wil be looking for news on the uptake of Twilio Flex, the contact center application platform.
The size of the developer community is another data point to watch, and of course, the two revenue drivers: new customer acquisition, and the amount current customers are growing. It's this two headed giant for revenue growth that has Twilio bulls so
